A definite favourite with sport fans! K-1 is similar to Muay Thai except for clinching. Typically K1 bouts consist of three rounds lasting 3 minutes (5 rounds for championship matches). That might not sound like much but because the scoring favours the competitor who’s more aggressive and moving forwards the results are often highly explosive.
3 to 5 rounds scored on aggression & moving forward means K1 places huge demands on you mentally and physically.
Lightning attacks of punches & kicks are a signature of K1 fights, you have to train your fast twitch muscles and reactions.
Being only 3 to 5 rounds long means every hit has to count & K1 fighters train to deliver high power strikes with incredible accuracy time & time again.
